Hearing Tests

free_hearing_test

We are proud to offer extensive, in depth free hearing tests to our patients using the latest technology to provide expert hearing care to all.

Each assessment takes approximately 90 minutes. We encourage our patients to bring a loved one along to help with a familiar voice test. Without a familiar voice, we can't carry out this part of the assessment.

Your hearing assessment will include Otoscopy (inspection of your ears) and full PTA (Pure Tone Audiometry) all to the latest standards set by the British Society of Audiology.

We will provide you a thorough explanation of your assessment results and offer you guidance should you require it.

Should a hearing loss be identified, we will of course discuss with you your options and available treatments.

We want you to leave our hearing clinic with a clear understanding of your current hearing and to feel that it was the best hearing consultation you have ever had!

What a free hearing test looks like..

Here is a guide of what to expect during your 90 minute consultation..

Getting to know you

For us to deliver a personal, bespoke approach to our hearing care, we will ask you about how you are currently getting on with your hearing, environments you may find difficult and how this affects you.

Medical Case History

As healthcare professionals, it is our duty to ensure we check for any potential medical causes for hearing loss, whilst checking for certain other medical conditions that may have been untreated.

Otoscopy

Otoscopy is a visual inspection of your ears. This examination is carried to check the health of your ears and other other potential medical issues.

Speech Test

This test is usually carried out when there is a familiar voice present, so we can assess how you hear in a quiet environment with a voice you know.

PTA

We carry out PTA (Pure Tone Audiometry) to the latest standards and guidelines set, ensuring the highest degree of accuracy in our testing.

Results

Once the Pure Tone Audiometry is completed, we will then provide you with the results, giving you a clear explanation of what means what.

Treatment

If a hearing loss is discovered and we have clearly explained the results to you, we will then provide you information on possible treatments, with no obligation.

Our goal

We are committed to delivering an extensive hearing assessment, provided by experienced experts. We want you to feel listened to as a patient and not just a number.
