Ear Wax Removal
Micro-suction or Water Irrigation
Are you experiencing discomfort or reduced hearing due to excess ear wax?
Choose from our painless and effective methods, available at the clinic or in the comfort of your own home.
Ear Wax Removal Methods
We offer two advanced ear wax removal methods: Micro-Suction and Water Irrigation. These safe and effective techniques are designed to gently remove excess ear wax buildup, providing immediate relief from discomfort and improving auditory clarity.
Micro-suction
Micro-Suction is a cutting-edge procedure using gentle suction to clear stubborn ear wax. Unlike traditional syringing, it offers precise control, minimising the risk of injury to delicate ear structures. Our experienced clinicians ensure safe and efficient blockage removal, providing a comfortable experience for our patients.
Water Irrigation
Water Irrigation is a technique used to remove impacted ear wax. It involves gently flushing sterilised temperature controlled water into the ear canal using a specialised irrigation device. The water helps to soften the wax, allowing it to be removed out along with any debris or foreign particles.

Ear Wax Removal Appointment
What to expect
Pre-appointment - Olive Oil Drops:
Before your ear wax removal appointment at The Clevedon Hearing Clinic, we recommend using olive oil drops to soften and loosen stubborn wax, to minimise discomfort and enhance effectiveness. For application simply tilt your head and apply drops twice daily for several days prior to your appointment. Earol olive oil spray is available at our clinic for £5.

During your appointment
Your clinician will begin by examining your ears using a specialised otoscope to assess the extent of the wax buildup. Depending on your needs and preferences, your clinician will then proceed with either Micro-suction or Water Irrigation ear wax removal. Throughout your procedure, your clinician will prioritise your comfort, ensuring minimal discomfort and maximum effectiveness. Furthermore, we will explain each stage and answer any questions you may have along the way.

Post-procedure
Once we are satisfied your ears are clear and there are no contra-indicators, we can provide a FREE Hearing Screening - a short test to ensure you are hearing as you should. This is all included in your £65 cost!
If necessary, your clinician will schedule a follow-up appointment to ensure your ears are clear and free from any residual wax buildup.

*We recommend avoiding swimming or getting water in your ears for at least 24 hours after the procedure to prevent irritation or infection.
